!955 G9 crankcase filter

As a precaution, i am cleaning this out. However, rather foolishly, a ball bearing dropped out - part of the non retorn valve - and I am unsure where it located!
Does it locate against the filter end of the spring or against the large threaded boss end? A GA would be good but cannot find anything on the manuals.....
