AJS & Matchless Owners Club

Hi,

Having lined up a buyer for my Guzzi project I'm starting to think seriously about getting started on the AJS. It needs pretty much everything refurbishing or replacing but I'm starting with the engine. I gather the big end replacement isn't a job for your average DIYer so need someone to sort that. And so I don't need to get back into the engine anytime soon i intend to replace the mains and piston (and rebore if required).
Can anyone recommend somewhere I can get this work done relatively local to Basingstoke, Hampshire. Don't mind an hour of so of travel to the right place.

Owslebury crankshafts in Winchester will assemble the bottom end if you get the crankpin from Alpha. They'll sort out the re-bore at the same time. A very good company and always busy.
