Let there be light! Finally Joe Lucas returns from the dark side. LED's straight in, no diode required. Lights up the sky like Standard Fireworks! Ebay comes up trumps again and cheaper for the same product.

Hi Chris
Good to see you're happy with the result but it may be worthwhile reporting back after a longer period of use - quite a lot of LEDs in general seem to have issues over longevity.
Regards Mick

Wondered how long it'd be before you put that up. I'm a fan for sure as I can see now when out and about on the CS's as they only run 6v and a short dynamo.

Interestingly it does dip really well and I've just found a source for positive earth pilot bulbs.

I've just fitted one of these:
https://www.classiccarleds.co.uk/produc ... sion-9-32v. It needs 12v, but works on either positive or negative earth, and has a nice 'period' colour to it. I already have an H4 reflector, but they also sell adaptors which should allow one to be fitted to an existing headlamp. There is no fan to fail, and it fits into the headlamp nacelle of my 1960 650cc without fouling the speedo cable. They sell 6v bulbs too, but apparently not in this colour.

I am delighted to confirm that the Jag pilot bulb fits and works perfectly. So much so that the pilot is now much brighter than the original full beam ever was!
