Hi All. I am working on a heavyweight frame, date approx 1957. There are two small threaded holes below the swinging arm pivot on the engine side. I cant make out what these are for, and would like to know the thread size. Hopefully someone will be able to point me in the right direction. Regards Andy. :o

Sounds like the point where the centre stand retaining clip mounts. I think someone said that are 2ba, but I'm not sure. Someone more knowledgeable will have to answer that one.

Spot on answer, that's exactly what the holes are for and the correct thread. Originally there would have been 2 studs and the clip held with nuts but most swap them for bolts.

The is is spring steel with slot holes for adjustment, and formed the other end to hold the center bar on the stand when it's raised.

Available from the parts service

(016399)
SPRING CLIP CENTRE STAND -1962. However I can't see the 2 BA bolts listed separately, only as part of the front mudguard fixing kit. I'll have to get this looked into for the future.

Just been on A M C Classic spares site I-e 016399 centre stand spring clip £ 6- 00, 012565 bolt for same 75p, replaces 000250 stud, 000080 nuts.
Also on AMOC Website I see two spring clips part no, 016399 £ 9-90, and 029488 £7-56.
Could need checking which is correct one for your frame.
