When they changed the cylinder head on the G 12 in 1960 did they change the barrels to accommodate the new head

Yep everything changed, pistons, barrels and heads and none of it is easily interchangeable.

I have just built the engine and put it in the frame it's about 1/8 too high in the frame so I think that the barrels are the wrong ones
The bike was a bit of a mixamatch

Why do you think it's 1/8" too high? Have you got the cranked headstay? The barrells are the same length. Only the top spigot diameter changed.
Dave.

Hi Dave
The exhaust bracket that fits to the frame was to high I thought that it was the exhaust bracket seeing it was a pattern part so filed it ti fit than when I put the carb on it does not line up with the hole
In the tin ware the engine steady fit alright

I can't help with the height and I don't see a nice photo of the head steady, but the exhaust pipe looks to be a bit of a loose fit in the head.
Does the spigot at the top of the barrel fit nicely into the head?

You have the wrong cover panel between the oil tank and tool box. The top of the intake hole on the correct one virtually eclipses the screw indent whereas your's is a lot lower. As for the pipes, I bet they are from Armours and they're all like that.
