Oil pump

While overhauling my friends G3, we discovered that the incorrect plunger has been fitted at some point. Fitted is a narrow groove plunger and it should be a wide groove one. No one has any of the wide groove type. My friend has found one on fleebay, but it doesn't have the side by side holes as pictured in Roy bacons restoration book (pg 104). But has a single hole. Does anyone know if it may be possible that there was a single hole wide groove plunger that would be compatible for a 1955 G3ls.
