amc gear box question
Is it possible to replace the selector cam Oil seal without removing the gear box main shaft,I was hoping to not have to dismantle the primary case and clutch

Re: amc gear box question
Yes, easily done. There are three oil seals associated with the quadrant plate, and gear change assembly. O-ring 04-0129 under the cap screw that retains the quadrant in the case, o-ring 04-0129 under the cap screw retaining the cam plate, and o-ring 04-0006 on the shifter shaft inside the outer cover.
