Hi All
I am about to have a tank made for what I believe is a 24 OHV.
I have access to another 24 and have found this frame has a longer tank that would not fit in my frame.

My frame number is 40391.

Can anyone shed some light why this would be different and is there any measurements or patterns I can use in existence.
My only other option is to use the longer tank as a model and shorten it as required.

My preference is to make this project as close to original specs as possible.

40391 is a frame number for a 1924 model B3 350 OHV. I would need the other frame number which has the longer tank to tell you the year and model. However, you will not gain much by knowing this, as the tank is too long. So this frame is probably for a 500 or v twin. Which had a longer tank. Tanks did vary even on the 350's, year and model, see attached from 1921/26 350 parts list pictures. Attached below will give you some idea of the B3 tank you need, note the shape and position of tank caps and oil pump, for easy clues to spot. You may like to join the prewar e-group. I believe I am already a member of the e group. I thought this was the forum how I put out an email to it.

I will try to establish the correct measurements, this has been difficult because I cannot source the correct tank in Perth.

Not sure if I have lost the plot, I thought you wanted a tank for a 1924 B3 frame, This tank is nothing like 1927 H4, which is clearly seen by the position of the filler caps and oil pump. 1927 all three are on the left. 24 B3 is correct I will try and upload these photos.
