Borrow a working SR1 mag off another bike and see if it makes any difference. The SR1 mag was fitted to allsorts , dumper trucks and the likes and made to run in both directions, so check rotation also.Easily messed up bt enthusiatic amature.
The person i use for doing mags didnt want to do my mag as he is busy on other types of mag and says the SR1 doent go wrong apart from the windings and the condenser

Hi I tried a rebuilt mag from a stationary engine but had to fit an advance and retard from the original mag. this is the one that's on at the moment running well. thanks Richard
