Hi

Pg 67 of the workshop manual details the assembly on later models, but as far as I can see the principle is identical.

With regards to the flushing out the hub and bearings with any solvent I suggest there is a risk that any residue solvent not removed will seriously dilute or contaminate the grease and will result in premature wear of the bearings. It may feel somewhat cathartic in washing out the bearings in situ but theres nowt wrong with the grease already in there. It just may need topping up, very occasionally. Thats my view on it anyway. Open to others observations.

I flushed with paraffin and then rotated them a lot, pumped in a load of grease 48hr later which pushed out a lot of very old excuse for grease. I just kept pumping in grease until just new fresh grease without any crud or paraffin came out. I now have lovely smooth front wheel bearing again, but unfortunately another problem has manifested itself now - see my recent topic.
