Hi, I tried removing crank case filter which was super dirty but when tried to bolt it again the Allen bolt it has tread is a bit worn on engine side.

What taps to use on bike to make it good again ??

I think the thread size is 1 3/16 x 20tpi, Tracy Tools have a tap in stock, buy the CS Plug tap for £18, that is good enough.

Check you have the spring and caps in the correct order.

AND.... push some rag down the tunnel to ensure no swarf gets into the oil, not too far as there is an oil way drilling a little way down on the left

I have bought 1 3/16 as suggested but it is bigger than mine not good.

Any idea what is correct size and from where I get it.

Just measured (allen keyed oil filter) plug off mine( engine in bits ) and 1" diameter x 20 TPI .Tracy tools tap listed but cheaper ones seem to be out of stock ? If you get stuck you can make a tap if you know some one with a lathe . Turn threads on a bit of 1" silver steel and grind /file V slots and will do the job as a one off . Good luck .

Darren, can I please apologise for my error, I must have picked up the wrong crankcase half and measured the thread of the oil tank filler not the filter, sorry.
