The screwed in cap closing the oil pump tunnel to the rear on my G5 is not coming off. I have gone so far as to use an air impact wrench with no result. I am afraid to damage the case if more force is applied. this cap does not have any mechanical function, simply close and seal with an o-ring the oil pump housing. Any help is highly appreciated, thanks, Philip.

hi philip,
cant see an easy way of doing this, has yours just got the slot in the centre for a large screwdriver? if so can you maybe as a last resort put a good pair of molegrips on it?
give it a few knocks first with a mallet, do you really want it off if its not leaking?
regards, alan

Inlist Lucifer's aid but don't melt the case.
Cheers, Don.

thanks for the input, I have tried everything possible now up to using a chisel. The only result is that the screw does move about 2 mm on its outer perimiter and then locks again tightly. Is it really a normal thread type screw (it must be) or maybe a left hand thread? It does leak and the case needs to come apart to fix other things.
Regards
Philip
