Is a bike worth more with or without a sidecar on it?

In the shed I had the old sidecar that came with the 18CS... my question would be if I was to flog it, would be be worth more with the chair or better to split and sell them separately?

Just curious as I know chairs are not everyone's cup of tea... :?:

Should add I am not selling either just yet..

you are fishing in a very small pond when selling an outfit why not advertise the bike with the option to buy the chair ?

They are both separate at present so it'd be work to attach again. I like you're thinking though.. :)

Make that decision next year I think.

Quite correct. A combo would be worth more. There is a smaller market looking for a combo. There are people looking for a bike. There are people looking for only a side car, as they already have a bike. So separating the two will improve your chances of selling both the bike and sidecar or as a combo.

I should add that the chair is a trials type with it's own brake and outside step so that probably narrows the market even more..

There is a minority (I suspect a small one) of sidecar afficienados while most regard combos as combining the negative points of both bikes and cars. i will admit to being in the latter camp. It would therefore seem more logical to sell them separately.

I would think a trials chair would attract more interest than a road chair, especially if your machine is a CS from a similar period attached to the bike or not.
