Model 14 clutches

I'm having a bit of a dilemma as to which clutch should be fitted on my model 14 CSR.

With the bike came a box of bits, containing a double width crankshaft sprocket with 4 cut outs which slides over the crankshaft, a double width chain and a double width clutch basket (which i doesn't fit on the shaft on the bike)

However the model 14 i own has a single width sprocket/chain and clutch.

Should the CSR have a double or single width sprockets?

CSRs have duplex clutches (like the 350s). The CSR gearbox mainshaft is slightly longer to accommodate this (it's the same as the 350 one - p/n 041703)
Non-CSR 250s have a simplex clutch and a shorter mainshaft.
It's not unusual for the parts to get mixed up and you may come across bodged or missing spacers and things to try to get it all to fit...

Brilliant i'll have to go measure and ensure i've the right gearbox on my CSR.

The crankshaft looks to be the same length on both but i will have to measure?

I have a double sprocket, magneto/woodruff then the washer and nut. Should there be a small spacer in there somewhere to accommodate the chain?

The crankshaft is the same length for all arrangements. The duplex sprocket looks "odd" when fitted the correct way round and it's not unusual for it to be fitted backwards (which causes the duplex chain to foul the alternator rotor...)

There may or may not be a shim spacer behind the crank sprocket. The manual isn't very clear on this. Most engines don't seem to have a spacer, but I found I had to fit one to get the correct chain alignment...
