This topic has been mentioned before. Listen to what Rob is telling you - AMC recommended SAE 20 oil. The quantities are precisely specified in the various manuals. Fork oil is formulated just for this very purpose. It is eminently suitable for front forks and rear Jampot units and is easily obtainable, in the correct viscosity grade, from any decent motorcycle shop, or via. the internet.
So why mess about with engine oil, 20/50, SAE 30 etc. etc???

I was wrong checked manual fork oil is 20 s a e I'm going on naughty step lol.
