C/P Gear Box with B52 Clutch
HI RAY, 350 cc models for 1951 have five plain plates and four friction plates. There are six plain and five friction plates on the 500cc and all competition models.B52 gearbox was introduced for the 1952 models.Clutch push rod lengths ,three sizes listed in the 51 workshop manual. these refer to matchless machines so substitute relevent A.J.S. model.
four plate clutch 9 7/8 ins. long ........G3L,G3LS
Five plate clutch 10 1/8 ins. long .......G3LC,G80,G80C,G80S.
" " " 11 1/8 ins. long......G3LCS G80CS
Hope this helps, regards Keith.
