Starmaker quantum engine

I've got an AJS Stormer with a 250cc Starmaker engine which has the inscription 'Quantum 1999' marked on the crankcase and the word 'Quantum' inscribed again on the top of the barrel. Can anyone tell me to what this word 'Quantum' refers?

I've currently got the engine being overhauled by a professional and initial reports are that it is sound and doesn't need much work. It's not eating anything so I think I'll put it back in the shed.
