I have one of that years N15CS, and it is almost as it left the factory. Jerry is a really good restorer of bikes, but do not expect this restoration of your N15CS to be on the cheap side. It will be well worth it as you will end up with a really good bike, and Mike Partick held the number one plate in the desert on an Atlas Scrambler back in 1964. The later N15CS's were updated and were more of a road bike, or a street scrambler, but they were and could still be used in American off road events. Try to get a copy of Classic Bike dated July 1994, and look on page 16, as that is the bike that you own, and what it should look like. It will rock your world. It was titled called Storming Nortons.

John, I'm such a novice I didn't know engine & frame numbers were different.

The engine SN is NA104300 and the frame # is 116041.

My preliminary research leads me to believe I was off by 4 years and this is a 1963 Norton. Since the 1st Atlas was 108000, seems like this bike might predate the Atlas.

Maybe this will clear up some of the confusion. I really appreciate the help.

Here's a picture of the #.

It is not a 1967 N15CS, as it still has the magneto ignition as standard. and 1967 numbers were from 119 and 120. I have sent Jerry a picture of what my own N15CS looks like and what your own N15CS should look like when completely restored. That is if you want to restore it and or sell it on. The crankcase number should have have told you that it was an N15CS. It may have been sold as 1967 model year. Roy Bellett our dating officer will be able to date it exactly for you. The first batch of Norton Atlas Scramblers were dispatched in October and November 1963, and went from 107388 to 107587 and only 200 of them were made and dispatched.
