I thought I should start a new topic as the questions are becoming more specific
I am looking at getting the wheels rebuilt. On my G15 mk2, number 113210 the front and rear has full width norton hubs and both front and rear rims are the WM3 size. Is that correct? I would have thought that the front would be thinner, perhaps a WM2. They are both 18" diameter.
Does anyone know the correct fittment? Also there looks to be no offset on either the front or rear hubs. Is that also correct?
Tyres fitted when I got the bike were 400x18 rear and 350x18 front.

Re: G15 wheels +
Rim for the G15 MkII is a WM3-18, front and rear. part number 23319.
If you go to Christian's archives, you'll find a leaflet for a 1966 G15MkII, and this clearly shows 18" wheels front and rear. The front tire looks to be at least a 350, too, as it fills up that chrome mudguard fairly well. The most relevant tire specs I could find are for the 1965 33/33CSR, (1965 AJS brochure, also in his archives) which state 3.25-18 front and 4.00-18 rear for the 33 and 3.25-18 front and 3.50-18 rear for the 33CSR
He's also got a leaflet for a 1966 G15CS, and again, one can tell the relative sizes of the wheels and tires, which are decidedly different from the MkII. The front rim on a CS is a WM2-19 p/n 18350, and the rear is a WM3-18, p/n 030432. The rear rim is unique to the N15CS/G15CS, in that it uses heavier spokes than the Atlas, 33/G15MkII and 33CSR/G15CSR.

Thanks for the clarification on rim sizes. do you know if there is any offset on the hubs when they are laced? It looked to me as though they were central in the rims and all spokes were the same length.

I don't know about the 65-66 models for sure, but my late '67 has no offset on either the front or the back.

thank you. I am sure that mine were central and original. I just wanted confirmation from someone else to be sure.
