Not sure if I've got the wrong end of the stick here but I'd have thought it would have sensible for that to have been done before sale.

This is a problem that was reputedly resolved some 2-3 years ago.
It appears its a problem on some engines and not others possibly due to different fly wheels that were used during the lifetime of the 250 engines.
We are arranging for the stock to be inspected and re-worked if/as necessary.

That may be the reason mine didn't have a problem. It's still on standard bore.

Fitted improved piston today, bike starts and seemed to run okay.

Hoping the head gasket which was new will be happy having been torqued up four times !

Don't mention head gaskets to me!! Eventually gave up with copper after taking the head off about 6 times, now fitted composite and did 3 re-torques and it has been fine so far, touch wood

i know what you mean , i to have gone to the composite style head gasket, and today commute went well, no leaks from the head i could detect although the rocker cover gasket is leaking from the rear, im not too surprised by this considering the messing about taking it apart 6 -7 times with the piston shenanigans
