Many thanks for these very interesting posts. I well remember the Villiers 2 strokes starting to take over on the BBC Grandstand scrambles, although at the time was a bit too young to appreciate what was going on. It's fascinating to read some of the history.

There are a couple of AJS scramblers one a stormer on fleabay atm, seems they are coming out of the woodwork. Must admit after reading your posts, I reak'en 'twould be good fun to try one.

I remeber seeing some scrambling at Canada heights in kent as a kid but I have no idea what I was watching
