Interesting a French registered bike in the USA.
That is the part that has me puzzled the ones I have seen don't have the rear license plate like mine since I'm guessing they were always registered here in the U.S.

There were quite a lot of AJS n Matchless exported to US and there are quite a few still running, there are over 500 club members USA and Canada.
Did you get any papers with the bike from previous owner? It might have been imported from France previously and never registered in USA or come over from Canada. It's worth finding out from the guy you got it off where he got it.

The only paper work I got was his original sale receipt. He did say the guy that he bought it off of imported it here to the U.S. sometime before 1980. I will have to ask the guy I bought it from if he has any more information.
