Assembling crankcase
Re-assembling crankcase with new drive bearings axles and new timing side bush. Everything very tight especially timing side bush. Any ideas how to loosen timing bush so axle fits easier. Also the old bush had a locking pin....is this necessary for new bush?......Robert

Re: Assembling crankcase
Have you reamed the new timing side bush to fit?
Yes the locking pin is need to prevent the bush binding and spinning in the crankcase and causing wear to the alloy.

Re: Assembling crankcase
Even after reaming a properly fitted bush will have a tight spot when new. The clearance should be not more than 0.001in & the allowable similar runout of the shaft will cause some binding intil run in. If the shaft spins freely in the T/S half case, the clearance is adaquate. Reaming should be done by a qualified engineer as fit is critcal. Cheers, Don.

are you sure your rebuilt crankshaft axles are in line. It might be worth a second check
