Hello all.
I have been offered a 1955 G80 CS and was wondering if a CS would have that hole in the frame for an airfilter tube.
Any help please?
What are the difference between a streetmodel and an CS for a `55 model at all?
Thank you,
Norman

Re: 1955 CS frame
Let me have the frame number and I will see if there is anything on the dating data base. But I would say that the frame would be as the road version.

Re: 1955 CS frame
Yes it does. The '55 has a 'square ' shape to it and the oil tank and battery box (if fitted) use 2 bolts to mount- not studs

Norman:
Yes, the '55 G80CS front frame section is the same as the G80S version. Both would have the opening for an air cleaner connector. The '55 G80C front frame section would differ from the S & CS as it would not have this similar down tube.
Also, the CS would have the "C" letter designation on the end of the serial number (located near the rear down tube on the right hand side main frame tube).
Marty is correct that the 55 bolts through the rear down tube rather than to studs as did the '54.
The '55 G80CS and G80S did differ for the rear frame section as the street model did not have the brace between the jampot upper mounts.
Also, I have seen CS rear frame sections with and without the gusseted mounts for pillion pegs. My '55 CS does have these, but my brother's '55 CS does not. Don't have any explanation for that.
Hope this helps.
Cheers,
Rick T
