1956 18CS rear mudguard mount

Post by charlski »

Hi there hope someone can help, I have a 1956 ajs 18cs that I am restoring, the problem I have is that the rear mudguard loop has been bent backwards almost flat, I am about to try and bend it back up to the correct position .... But my question is what is the correct position, ???? can anybody give me a angle that the rear loop rises up from the rear subframe ?? In pics it looks as if it rises at a 90 degrees angle from the subframe, but others look as if it is tilted forwards slightly, thus at an angle of less than 90 degrees from the rear subframe, if any one could supply an angle for this rear mudguard loop It would be great, many thanks in advance for any help, regards.
