L/W Side Stand !

We all know the cost of these side stands if you can find one. On ebay there is a AJS 250 CSR for sale. It has an after market side stand fitted to the nearside rear footrest arm. Looks like it does the job. Where do these little gems come ??? Any other comments re their use would be nice.

A certain type of Jawa stand will fit nicely on a lightweight, but it fits on where the nearside footrst fits, so you can't have both.

Will the universal 1" stand clamp onto the rear footrest. Like many I don't take passengers. Too many fidgets !! If not which Jawa CZ was it from, cannot be that easy to find.

I have no idea what Jawa the stand came off. But it just bolted on in place of the foot rest. No other work needed. The foot hanger is not 1" dia. Also those universal side stands are a bit short.
For fitting up by the pillion foot rest.
Perhaps the late prewar side stand offers a tip. The prewar side stand bolted on a special riders foot rest. This was via a lug on the footrest. Perhaps such a lug could be wealded on the lightweight riders foot rest. Then a 50's side stand used
( available from club spares usualy complete with bolt & spring ) the lug could be copied from a 50's bike, but made a bit longer as it would need weld bead, possition and angle would need to be spot on.Edited by - Rob Harknett on 29 Jul 2012 5:55:40 PM

The one on ebay doesn't look right, and it has no bracket or fittings.
