 The 2012 Traders
£12,000 raised in just 3 hours, for our charities, thank you!
On Wednesday June 20th 2012 over 3000 people attended the Royston & District Motorcycle Show held at Meldreth Manor School. The show, which over the last 27 years has raised money for local charities including Meldreth Manor School, the East Anglian Air Ambulance, Magpas and SERV “Blood Runners”, was supported by a break in the rain that meant there were more motorcycles at the show than ever before. Roger Gale, Principle of the School said during the show “this has to be the biggest yet? It feels like there are more here than ever before”.

Amongst the bikes, the RDMCC Judge was viewing and reviewing all the bikes at the show and selected the best of the best. The pictures can be seen on our Show in Pictures page. The Judge picked some real gems this year with the Best In Show, Sponsored by the RDMCC, being a Yamaha TZ350.
There were a total of 25 traders at this years show, with some arriving at the last minute. The biggest effort award must go to Supa Moto who last week signed a deal to be Suzuki dealers and the three bikes they brought to the show were only delivered at 8am on the day of the show. These bad boys were only out of the box and 7 hours later they are set up on the Supa Moto stand. An extra addition to the show was ZERO Motorcycles. These electric bikes can get up to 95mph and only cost £20 to charge AT HOME on a three pin plug!!! Having seen, but barely heard these bikes (so quiet), we can only assume that we will be seeing these on the streets of our congested city's soon!

Oh and did we mention?

You have helped us raise £111,091 since the show began!
