I have not been able to find a part no for the metal end cap for the ex side of the timing chest for a 1949 g80s,thanks in advance,cheers Trev

Not sure whether I'm stating the bloomin obvious here, but you've tried the spares list, right?

it only shows the cam bush number but not the cap

Make one out of alloy on a lathe. Can even be solid if you like. I'd turn one up for you but don't have a spare timing cover anymore for exact dimensions.

I'd rather have a cover with me, when talking about thousandths for an exact fit. You should move to Victoria for me to help you, it's too hot and muggy up there! It will probably be a standard 1/2 inch welch plug. Google welch plug suppliers.

thanks wilko i now know what a welch plug is,got hold of a 18mm one needs to be turned down to 17.5 apprx,but will do the job.

yes it looks like brass,but i think just anodised steel
