G80 colour scheme/tank livery (1950s)

Post by Mckorkins »

I know there's a very good guide available by Keith Jackson on the general colour schemes adopted by AMC throughout the years, but I'd like to know whether there was a variation in the 'D' lining on, say, a 1956 Model G80, or was it always the red/silver/black scheme? I've seen one or two Matchless G80s with a gold/yellow lining rather than the usual livery, but take it that's non-standard. A definitive answer would be helpful.

Should be listed in the back of 'AJS-Matchless' by Roy Bacon.
