Re: Oil pump problem
Click on the magnifying glass and search this question, its been resolved in the past. Something to do with the wrong paper gasket being fitted, or wrong way round or the hole otherwise blocked at the crank case connection, cannot remember now. While you are checking that, also check the pipe is clear of surplas gasket sealer.

No oil to ohv on G80CS
Hi all,
I have a 1955 G80CS Matchless that does not get oil up to the rockers,
I have checked oil pump all seems to be ok it revolves and moves back and forward,
And does pump back to the oil tank, but not to the overhead rockers, no blockages in lines.
Any ideas as to why?
Cheers Alan

Check the oil pump guide pin. I have seen that twice cause that issue . Just a little wear stops it lining up and it's only a few pence for a new one

Re: Oil pump problem
Welcome, Alan
My crystal ball's a bit cloudy this morning...
Is the bike new to you?
Is this a new problem or has the pump oiled the rockers in the past?
Did you run th'engine or just kick it over?
Have you done any work on th'engine?
More clues pls!

Thanks Jezh
I have checked the pin and there is no wear on the end that goes into slot in oil pump, but the other end may have a slight bit of wear, I will replace pin anyway and try it. Cheers

This post and it's contents may appear out of time sequence - Alan had registered as a guest whilst his membership account was being sorted and had enetered the same question under the two different names. I've merged the two sets of answers together, but this has resulted in Rob replying to question that hadn't yet been asked (according to the times) !!
