Wumpletoad, yes it will cause problems having your posting in the wrong place.

The principle reason for splitting the forum into bike specific areas is to assist in anyone searching for information on their model of bike. So if we permit discussions on sorts of models within the same thread, it makes it increasingly difficult to search for the info at a later date.

I'm locking this thread (with apologies to Mark, the thread owner), so if you can start a new topic in the G80 area I'm sure you'll get illumination from those experienced in that model !
