Wassell carbs

I have seen these Amal looking carbs in the OBM and a lot cheaper than Amal. Would they be a good purchase fo a 350 Model 8 in lieu of my old monobloc. Are the choke and throttle cables going fit one. I welcome your comments.

Cheap not always best

I had my pre-monobloc 89N cleaned, refurbished and re-sleeved and now with lovely smooth action for less than £90Edited by - Samuel on 17 May 2012 9:55:59 PM

Problems have been reported with wassell carbs in various places.
also with pukka amals, to a lesser extent.

Is your carb so knackered or have you just got money burning a hole?

Sorry the guy concerned has stopped doing this type of work. But Surrey Cycles used to do this sort of refurbishment so you could try calling them.

I brought a new amal from Kempton (may of been Surrey Cycles) about 10 years ago now and it has been great.
