This area is for discussion/information on the "modern" AJS motorcycles manufactured in China from 2006 onwards.

Hello,
Recently done my CBT so i could commute to work on a bike as my car was costing a fortune.

Long story short, i ended up with a 2008 CSR NKT1 (same as the AJS NAC12 just branded differently for some reason)

I was dubious about a Chinese bike due to the reputation and build quality but to my surprise its a great bike to ride.

I bought it second hand so there are a few niggles with it.
The choke adjuster on the handlebars isn't connected.
I don't believe the radiator fan is working.
There is a lose harness around the engine that i have no idea what it is connected to.
It seems as though there is a hose cut that runs from the petrol tank to the block. and has been blocked off at the block end (fuel return maybe????)

Other than those issues its great and a lot of fun to ride.

Will upload some images of it sometime and document the progess i make with fixing it up.

Thanks,

John

Hi John, I'd be interested to see your pictures and record of the progress you make. There doesn't appear to be much information on these bikes with respect of home maintenance/repairs, so anything you can contribute will be gratefully received.

Well here is the bike and the changes that i have done already.
Some of the pictures are bad quality due to being taken on my phone

Original

I really like the look, obviously its a little different to the original and some wont like it, but after all i'm building it for myself.

How it looks now

Bit of a bobber/streetfighter style. Still more changes to come though as i progress throughEdited by - johnbridgedesign on 17 May 2012 10:24:27 AM

Is there a number plate? From the look of that non existent hugger you will get a wet ar$e in bad weather!
Personally i'm not into much in the way of cutomising but each to their own.
It's all just riding motorbikes

It certainly does get wet in the rain, i have had the pleasure of that once. I'm in the process of fabricating a tyre hugger from sheet metal but i just haven't had the time to finish it yet.

So i hope the rain keeps away for a couple of more days.
