G80 SpeedoTrip meter re-set

Post by Trefor »

I have a G80 with the post 1955 Speedo in the head lamp shell. How and where does the re-set for the trip meter fit? I have searched in vain the old parts lists for cables and buttons and the head lamp shell for holes. Can somebody please enlighten me.

"55's have the rear hooded headlight which has a space underneath for the reset to protrude downwards. I'm relying on memory?

Look for a small spindle with a small hole in the shaft, on the bottom, you will need the long extended trip arm about 3" long. Fits on with a small clevis pin. If the spindle comes out the side, you've got the wrong speedo.

Thanks for the help- it's right speedo and I've located the shaft. I just need to make up an extension to exit out of the shell with the wiring and speedo drive cable.
