Silencer Too Loud

Ian if anyone uses your formula they will end up with a lot of holes probably more than there is room to put them in. The correct formula is 3.142 X R2 because I cant show it correctly R is radius the 2 meaning squared so really R multiplied by itself where R is half of the pipe diameter known as radius.

For a 500 twin I used four rows of 4 holes each 7/16" dia over a length of about
4 1/2" with each row of holes offset to its neighbour and no holes facing the silencer.

A picture could paint a thousand words.

I found the problem writing the formula for Pi x R squared ,but I figured (D divided by 2) times itself would be interpreted correctly.

Ian you are correct I had not realised D/2 meant D divided by 2 my interpretation was D squared.
