1955 model 20 ???

Hi Folks, new to this club and AJS's in general. I have recently purchased an AJS 1955 I think with a twin engine, separate oil tank and 2 tool cases, black plastic steering damper knob. The inspection cover on the gearbox is screw off type, Front wheel hub is full width, Tank badges are blue.

Bike looks the same as in the photo in this link;

Only difference is the tank is all black. Probably painted at some time.
The numbers are as follows; Engine 55/2026930. Frame A33197
Can anyone verify this model for me. Also any suggestions regarding a company for getting the tank chromed.

Comparing your numbers to my AJS which is also a 1955 model, (built in December 54) I reckon you have a later in the year AJS M20 engine number 26930 (500 cc) and the frame number is 9934 higher than mine so could be correct, if AMC built that many bikes in a year. I don't think there was a chrome tankoption, but I dare say someone will correct me if I am wrong.
