Engine Oil Prime

May I ask my learned friends, is it advisable to prime my AJS 36/12 with oil prior to starting after I have cleaned out the oil from tank, pipes and sump ? Kind regards.

put about a teacup of oil inthe sump. pour it into the rocker box if needbe
then soak the oil tank filter with oil as much as it'll take thats all.

On the 36/12 is that down the push rod tubes ?

yes, thats why its best to put it in before the cylinder goes on.
