I am currently restoring the above machine. Please can anyone advise on the fitting of the centre stand and especially the centre stand spring.
I can figure out where the long end of the spring acts but am very unsure about where the short end of the spring acts upon.

The spring hooks into a hole in the right hand engine plate, midway (almost) between the square footrest shaft hole and the lower gear box mounting hole. It's bit of a push/pull/curse job. If you have problems, try inserting the end before you poke the centre shaft through.
