It was listed on the 30/10, so our input had nothing to do with the pricing.
The bike is a 50’s jampot road frame with full width hubs and as he says an earlier 48 engine. The only comp parts I can see is the battered after market tank, even the speedo is off a bantam, you could argue this is a period feature.
I think itma called this one right, a chopped rough road bike. OK for some fun at the right price.

OK. you have rumbled me! That is the bike that I was considering buying. I guess you are right and it is 'Bitsa'? £Would 1500 be too much. What about future values?

Its a complete hotch potch of bits looks as if it could be a very early engine 1940, depends if exhaust fits in or on a stub allied to a much later gear B52 gearbox, its a scots left over reg bearing no relation to its year of manufacturer.
However I have seen a lot worse, for agrand or so will give you a lot of fun.
Expect it to be a pain in the bum finding spares as you`ll need to treat each bit as a unit, I doubt more than 3 bits are from the same bike.
Future value?? treat it as spares, its no investment
Its a dog, a real mongrel but possibly one worth rehoming if you accept it may turn round and bite you.

Check out "Photos" (above) competition machines, page 3,third row down ,middle picture,G3LCS,that's a bitsa, but it has a "pukka" short stroke alloy motor, this one DIDN'T sell at Stafford last month, asking price?A little over £2000.....how does this compare with the one you are thinking about? It would have to be under £1000 to make any sense at all.....and you will do a lot of spannering!
Hard work never killed anyone.....but why take the risk?
