Blowing the Fuse

Post by model26 »

It is impossible to 'blow' a 35 amp fuse, as at 12 V it equates to over 400 Watts, which is many times in excess of what the alternator can generate. Do you know where the fuse is, as originally the lightweights never had fuses? Just a thought, but it is not by any chance a 3.5 amp fuse?

Its not the alternator that's blowing the fuse but the battery. Even the relatively small batteries found on motorcycles can pack a punch if shorted and could blow something much heavier than a 35 amp fuse. So from this you could assume you may have a direct short to earth somewhere, but I have no suggestions other than those already made.
