"Check for wet-sumping"??

It's a lightweight. Isn't that where the oil is supposed to be??

It is actually a dry sump engine, the oil tank is housed within the timing side cowl.

...never buy N.O.S. Lucas or any other make condensers. The materials used in the old days, do not stand long term storage very well. The main contents of the old type condensers were paper and various solutions, so its not hard to imagine that in time this material will break down. Always buy modern type automotive condensers with the correct rating. This advice given from a rebuilder of magnetos, who has actual experience in this field.

Hi Richard. I had very similar symtoms on my G2 L/W. I bought the bike in bits and rebuilt it. I did not have any experience of the choke lever operation. I think the design seems a bit suspect as the cable is under full load when the choke is actually off! Good luck.

Sej, from Brown and Barlow through AMAC to AMAL the design as been ever thus. Any other design alternative would place some form of obstruction in the inlet tract. 'Twas good enough for Grandad.
