I have converted my G2 to Boyer Brandsen ignition, and it’s transformed. Ie it starts and runs reliably. I set the timing with a bent wire through the plug hole. It starts real easy, first kick, and this makes me happy.
As I’ve never ridden the bike pre conversion, too unreliable, I don’t know how it’s supposed to perform.
It really seems to run out of steam on hills, or when under load. Could this be a timing issue, or is that ow they are?

Re: Electronic ignition
Hi David, it sounds all good starting on first kick. As for performance on hills etc. what are you comparing this with i.e. what bike are you normaly used to riding. They can be a little slugish compared to a modern 250.
Hope this helps.

Re: Electronic ignition
Last bike I had was a modern 600 sports bike 20 years ago. I guess if I get the speedo sorted it’ll give me a better idea. It’s also my first classic/vintage bike so I’m really not sure on performance.
