Drive side case

I’ve decided that my crankshaft did not turn freely enough to proceed, probably due to the extensive welding done to repair damage to the drive side case. Luckily, in my box of random parts, I have another case. It seems the same in all ways but one. There are an extra two oil passage holes drilled in the top beveled edge. These appear to allow oil from the chamber at the end of the exhaust cam to circulate around the cylinder barrel and into the inlet cam chamber. The damaged case did not have these holes. Can I use this case?
