Battery Recommendations please

Post by PX207 »

Evening all,

I would like to replace the battery on my M20. It currently has a small Yuasa 6v 4ah lead acid, but I would prefer to replace it with an AGM one. Any recommendations, would something with increased ah, say 9-12 be possible (as long as it'll fit).

Also if anyone could supply a photo of the internal of their own battery box that would be greatly appreciated 😀

Many thanks Paul

AGM batteries tend to be physically smaller than older types so I think it would fit ok. Something that may be worth checking out is that I read somewhere that AGM batteries need electronic regulators (I have electronic 6v regulators on my bikes and AGM batteries).

Thanks guys, just back of a short break, but I have the Tanya website bookmarked. Trefor I'll look into the possible implications of using AGM, but I would have thought Lithium would may create issues not AGM.

For a 59 Model 20 would the battery just sit in the metal holder or would it have been in a rubber/plastic Lucas case?

Cheers Paul
