Hi,
When I started stripping my newly acquired G2 I saw this oil pipe dangling out of the bottom of the engine.
Further stripping revealed this.
I can't see where it could fit. Please help.

Re: Oil pipe?
I don't know much about Lightweights but it looks like a breather.

Re: Oil pipe?
It should not be there at all, the P/O obviously thought it would be a good idea but serves no purpose. There should be a tube nut 042221 that extends into the breather outer ring 042220 in between the two main bearings. They do vary slightly depending upon engine dates but are roughly similar.

And why not? If Peter Williams (well his dad Jack actually) thought it was a good idea for a G2 CSR why not for a basic G2?clive wrote: ↑Mon Dec 12, 2022 11:00 pmRacing mod on a G2?well oiled wrote: ↑Mon Dec 12, 2022 10:39 pm Racing mod perhaps? Oil line went to a catch tank at front of engine?
Whatever it's purpose it's totally pointless as stated already.
