Spray Booth
Hi
Thinking about my next restoration and how to broaden my skill set and possibly save some expenditure I'm considering spraying the bodywork myself. I have all of the equipment required with the exception of an area in which to spray so am considering something like this:
https://www.machinemart.co.uk/p/clarke- ... rage---da/
Has anyone had any experience of this or similar items that may be suitable for spraying?
Regards Mick

Re: Spray Booth
when I painted a neighbours car wing in my garage many years ago I simply bought a roll of that thin plastic type film, pinned it to the joisting and made a small booth therein, worked for me, HOWEVER! I was using cellulose didn't wear a face mask and the following days my chums at work had a field day laughing as I desperately tried to remove the paint spray which had settled and dried damn hard in my nose and on my nasal hair, I can tell you this brought tears to my eyes literally.
Kind regards

As an aside and maybe it's well known but before spraying I put clingfilm over my specs lenses. If you have some large enough Richard you could wrap your nose and mouth with it against the virus.GOLDSTAR wrote: I was using cellulose didn't wear a face mask and the following days my chums at work had a field day laughing as I desperately tried to remove the paint spray which had settled and dried damn hard in my nose and on my nasal hair,...

Hi Mick,
I looked at a tent but decided to go for an 8 x 6 potting shed instead.
I insulated it with polystyrene and lined it with polythene to prevent dust, have an extractor plus filter in the door and its extra storage.
As I am on stop at the moment so I have relined the shed with new polythene and to prove it's a potting shed there's couple of tomato plants in the corner
Kind regards Colin

Re: Spray Booth
Nice spray booth, but we'll have to take your word that they are tomato plants.

Re: Spray Booth
Thanks for the comments Guys
The garage is not an option as I've run out of free space.
Colin, I'd discounted a shed on the grounds of it being too small but maybe I should reconsider, how do you cope with not being able to walk around the items you are spraying?
I'll be using an air powered spray gun fed from the compressor in my garage.

Re: Spray Booth
If you are not using air fed mask, consider a mask using activated charcoal filters similar to the type welders use.

Re: Spray Booth
In hindsight Mick, yes a bigger shed might have been better, say 8 x 8, it can get a bit cramped in there so I only paint in small batches.
I was told they were Tomato plants Nev, honest
