As best I can tell they are the same except the one on the left has had some welding done around the boss for mudguard stay.
I’m just waiting for it to come back from soda blasting and can then do a detailed comparisons

I was wondering the same, further inspection of the slider shows multiple dents with small hairline cracks , I would say the front end has been in an impact somehere along the line
So glad the hole appeared because its highly likely the entire slider would have broken at some point soon
