Exhaust Seal

Post by NZMatchless »

Any advice please on sealing the push in pipes into the cylinder head onmy G9?, if I just push them in it backfires like crazy, obiusly air getting in, they appear to be quite a tight fit, Ive tried Gum gum exhaust gaskets but this just cracks up and blows out

Ordinary clear silicone bathroom sealant works for me.
Wrap a bit of masking tape around the pipes first for a nice clean edge.

I just used regular decorator's stuff from a DIY chain store that I happened to have in my shed, previously bought for bathroom use. I doubt that it's anything special.

Nope, just down the road about three fags and a comfort stop.

Quiet on here, innit? I guess everyone's panic Jampot-fettling in sheds.
