Not selecting 1st gear

Not selecting 1st gear
Help I replaced the kickstart shaft oil seal Now after putting it back together I cannot select the gears properly Have I not alligned something correctly

Did you index the gearchange quadrant, the top of the knuckle should just line up with the adjacent top right hand inner cover stud?

Couldn't make out what the manual was getting at, some fellow members helped explain where I went wrong.

Most likely is either the pawl moved when the case went back on, or the quadrant wasn't indexed properly.
