Re: What goes in the hole
Nothing listed. To keep dirt out I have used a circle of plastic fuel pipe with the end held together with just a piece of wire.

I use foam pipe insulation. It's cut along its length to fit over copper pipes to say an outside tap to protect from frost. Just cut to length (slightly too long) and push into place.

Hi
Be careful what you put there - don't put anything that can hold the grease and allow it to enter the magneto.
Regards Mick

Re: What goes in the hole
I used a seal from an old vacuum cleaner on a 1955 with SR1 mag. Dia was about right, the thickness, thick enough so when pushed in it stayed there . I cut it to save taking the bike apart. Fitted with the join at the bottom acting as a drain should moisture get in. Only took a minute to fit by cutting the ring.

By cutting my rubber I did not have to dismantle anything. So only took a minute to fit. Its now been in the bike since 1988.
